Microsoft is getting error reports updating from Windows RT 8 to Windows RT 8.1 . Now the company has made their update offline, preventing the people from updating their RT devices. As per one of the statements that Microsoft published on their support forums say's it is "investigating a situation affecting a limited number of users updating their Windows RT devices to Windows RT 8.1. As a result, we have temporarily removed the Windows RT 8.1 update from the Windows Store."
Accordingly Microsoft hasn't specified what the issue can be of, but a number of reports suggest that a problem that had caused some of the machines to have their boot data being damaged during the update can be blamed. After all the affected machines are unusable until being repaired using a recovery device. The answer to the question how long the updates shall be offline has not being ended with a proper solution, but in the statement Microsoft says that it "will provide updates as they become available."
