How to root MOTOROLA Xoom 2 Media Edition(MZ607) with Android version 4.0 Ice Cream & 3.0 Honeycomb

I will explain you in how to easily Root your MOTOROLA Xoom 2 Media Edition(MZ607) with simple steps and guidelines that can make your rooting process easy. Please note that this Root methord works only on Windows XP+, Linux and Mac OS X is supported. Windows 8 does not supports the files that are nessasary for the rooting process.

Rooting Steps

Before you start note the following :

You must have all the drivers that you needed on to connect your device!
So you may download the drivers accordingly to your preferred program language Bit.

Motorola Drivers: 5.9.0 - 32bits | 5.9.0 - 64bits ( Click to download your preferred version )

So if you are ready with the drivers then Lets get started!

Let me make things a more deep and clear:

For this firstly you need to download the Root files

Part I - Android 3.X Versions of Honey Comb | Part II - 4.X Versions of Ice Cream Sandwich

So lets get started!

Follow the steps clearly before jumping on.

Part I - Root Method - Honeycomb


Step 1 -
Clarify that your PC has the Motorola Drivers installed.


Step 2 - After you download the Root files that i have provided for the Platforms that i have mentioned, Extract the zip file and run “run.bat” (on Windows) or “run.sh” from a terminal (on Linux/OSX) .


Note that : The device might reboot a few times during the process!


Step 3 - During one of the reboots you should see a finished message on the Root Method Window. At this point your device is safe to be removed from the computer.


Step 4 - As you are running Honeycomb if you are reading this then you should be receiving the ICS OTA soon. So lets backup your root so you can restore everything root after the upgrade (saves time). Download OTA Rootkeeper and backup root. 


There is no more steps as you had done rooting your device.

Part II - Root Method - Ice Cream Sandwich


Step 1 -
Connect your device via USB.


Step 2 - Under Settings > Developer Options > Hit the "Enable USB Debugging" selection.


Step 3 - Download the Root Installer.



Step 4 - Unzip the download. Then run the installer included in the download (file Root files for Ice Cream Sandwich - Googzone.bat).


Step 5 - Then you should see a finished message on the Root Method Window. At this point your device is safe to be removed from the computer.

And that's it, You have gained root access.
