How to Root your Motorola Droid X2 (Verizon) Updated 2013

With the present updated GingerBreak app, you can make your Motorola Droid X2 being rooted easily which might sure be a power path to your hidden resources on this device. The app is a child play interference that let you gain your root acces with on click. It supports working itself on  Android 2.2 Froyo, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and also some devices that run Android 3.0 Honeycomb. I hope you are here with one of that.

Screen shot of GingerBreak v1.2 App!

Before you begin i strongly recommend you to Read the steps clearly before jumping in is no way back if once your phone has dead~!

Note that : This might not be working for some of the deices that uses Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread on Motorola Droid X2 devices. If you are strong enough to try out this way, you are free to, do as this is an optional chance! and if you had successfully Rooted your device then please inform us as this might help more people to gain Root access to these versions!

Lets Get Started!

As the rooting process will wipe your cache, all your APN and MMS settings will also be reset. Contact your service provider to get more information about APN and MMS settings.

To ensure that the process completes uninterruptedly, make sure your device has at least 50% battery power. A better suggestion is to root your device on full power.

We will not hold responsibility if your device gets bricked or damaged during the process, although the chance of bricking your phone using this method is very slim.

Disclaimer : Attempt this at your own Risk! Recommended that you may please read the detail Disclaimer before your proceed. By reading this you may Please accept our policies to get the instructions leading you root your Device. Please dont use these steps in rooting a non prescribed device.

Requirements to Root!

1. A Motorola DROID X2 handset

2. The GingerBreak app (latest version is 1.20).

3. An Android file manager app (optional), preferably Astro File Manager.

I have provided both the Root and Unroot Steps in Part I & Part II

Rooting Steps ( Part I )

Read each process carefully!

Step 1 - Enable USB debugging on the handset. You can do this by going to Settings > Manage Applications and enable USB debugging.

Step 2 - Connect your phone to the computer. Mount the SD Card as disk drive. Copy the GingerBreak APK to the SD card’s root directory.

Step 3 - Install the GingerBreak APK on your phone using any available Android file manager (e.g., Astro File Manager).

Step 4 - Once GingerBreak has been installed, launch it from the Home screen.

Step 5 - Press the Root button in the app to start the rooting process. Wait for the app to finish.

Step 6 - If the previous steps are done correctly, your device will reboot.

Step 7 - After your device reboots, go to the Home screen and check if an icon labeled SuperUser is present.

Step 8 - Its not a step as if you find the SuperUser then you have successfully achieved Root Access!

Unrooting Steps ( Part II )

I don't need to provide any steps as its just 2 click to unroot as you can unroot it by uninstalling the Gingerbreak app to restore your device to its pre-rooted status.

If you find your device noted under any sort of malfunctioning you restore as it can void your manufacture warranty if found under rooted stage if claimed, so its better to unroot before you contact the provider.

If you find any trouble Rooting or Unrooting Feel free to comment Below!
