Disable the Google Now swipe up from home action

Google Now can be just easily accessed in Android devices with on-screen navigation keys by just swiping it up from the bottom of the home button. Obviously it is one of the greatest advantage of Android devices as it enables us to directly jump into Google Now from anywhere in the OS.

Unfortunately this small feature can end up causing a headache for many people. You may accidentally open Google Now while playing games in your Android devices.

(Google Now Swipe Disabler) developed by Adrian Campos had proved to be handy to avoid this problem. This application does not require root access to work properly and it is quite easy to use. This application can be used either to replace the stock swipe up to Google Now action with any other app or to completely disable it.

Step 1 : First download the application (Google Now swipe disabler) and install it on your Android device. This application can run properly on all Android devices which has on-screen navigation keys. It can work well in HTC One as it has swipe up to open Google Now action.

Step 2 : After installing the Google Now swipe disabler select the chose action option, which then present you with a list of all your installed apps and gives you an option to assign any action to the gesture. This app comes handy as it allow you to open any other app. While on disabling the Google Now function, you can allow any other function to replace that to run your desired application.

Step 3 : Once you have configured the desired action, return back on to the home screen. When you first swipe up the home screen action, for the first time you will be promoted to an option to “Complete the action using” pop-up. Now select the 'Google Now Swipe Disabler' from the pop-up and set it as a default option. By doing this you have changed the the Android's default action of opening the Google Now with any thier action that was being configured by you.
