Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 Finally Gets Official KitKat Update

Its been a while since LG G Pad 8.3 has come to market and at the same time Google launched Android 4.4 KitKat and LG was busy with manufacturing Nexus 5. On the other hand while most of the new generation devices has been consistently updated with Android 4.3 or 4.4 LG G Pad 8.3 was really stuck with Android 4.2. And luckily even after waiting for a long time users of this mild sized tablets should be happy to see the update of Android 4.
2.2 directly to Android 4.4.2 via OTA update.

The update codenamed VK81022B comes in at rather hefty 404MB, which comes in with lots of new features and bug fixes. The G Pad 8.3's screen can now be unlocked with the new Knock Code lock, which was already available on other LG devices.

From a power user’s point of view, you must know that OTA can’t be lashed using TWRP recovery. In other words, you’ll need to revert to stock recovery and stock firmware. Your device must be in vanilla state, so forget about root for the moment.
