Get Rid Of Gmail Messages In iOS 7 Using Mail App



As the introduction iOS 7 iphone has got several changes, but as far as seen the stock mail app hasn't got much changes, but some small changes in the UI department. Since Email plays a very crucial role in our daily life changes have made that bothered a lot of users. If you are a Gmail user but have so far avoided the official Gmail app for iOS, you have likely encountered the ‘Archive’ button that shows up in Mail every time you try to delete a message. Things were quite easy in iOS 6 and you could easily change these settings but now in iOS 7 they have removed these options from the internal part so that it is not so easy to straight way change the settings. Method For Individual Messages


It is not possible that everyone may know this but you can use the archive icon inside mails to trash mails. The option even there in iOS 6. In order to use that option click on the mail that you have to trash and in the bottom bar, you will see a box icon, long press it and a menu will appear with the Trash Message option in it. clicking on it easily deletes the message.

Method To Batch Delete

You cannot delete a bunch of mail by the archive option for that you will have to replace the archive button with trash option.


1. Launch the stock Settings app.
2. Tap the ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’ option.
3. Enter the Gmail section of this menu. It might be named anything, depending upon what you chose as its display name when setting up the Mail app.
4. Tap ‘Account’ and scroll to the bottom of the screen.
5. You’ll see a sub menu labeled ‘Advanced’ here; tap it.
6. Inside Gmail’s advanced settings, check the ‘Deleted Mailbox’ option located under the ‘Move discarded messages into’ heading.
7. Go to the previous screen and hit the ‘Done’ button in the top-right corner.

And after completing these steps you will now on see the thrash option while swiping across a message. Entering edit mode and selecting multiple emails will also bring up the trash option in the bottom-right corner.
